Artist's Description
I was walking in my quiet neighborhood at sunset. It had rained earlier that afternoon and the air was bright and crystal-clear. I turned a corner and stopped in my tracks, in awe at how five old cedar trees, bending into the sunset, loomed protectively over a house. The home looked enfolded by nature and safe.
My Artistic Inspiration—
I’m a cityscape oil painter passionate about bright colors and deep contrast. How I love this quiet Burbank, California neighborhood at sunset! My palette is bright with high-key colors and my brushstrokes are expressive. There’s inspiration all around us, especially in the places we’ve experienced a million times. Light and nature are living things, constantly changing. I try to look around me with new eyes, and I invite my audience to do the same.

About Bonnie Lambert

As an oil painter, I am inspired by intense color and deep contrast reflected through urban landscapes. I have a vivid childhood memory of seeing the aurora borealis, like a living creature, twisting over the black winter night sky above my Wisconsin home. Twenty-five years ago I moved to Southern California. The colossal scale of this city with its fluid light, contrasting landscapes, and passionate mix of cultures challenged me visually. The exotic extremes in Los Angeles opened wide my eyes and my heart. Now, using a vibrant palette and expressive brushstrokes, I strive to capture an essence of Southern Calfornialight, earth and people mirrored by this transcendent city.
